Vivien graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) in 2017. Since then, she has worked in both the private and education sectors supporting the communication of children and their families. Vivien uses a family-centered and neurodiversity-affirming approach to therapy and embraces paired and group intervention where appropriate.
Vivien is a firm believer in continuing to develop her clinical skills by engaging in professional development. To that end Vivien has experience using the Bridges in Social Understanding Curriculum, is a registered user of the Derbyshire Language Scheme and is proficient in the application of Sounds-Write, a systematic and synthetic phonics programme.
Vivien is passionate about making each session unique, engaging, rewarding, and fun. Engagement is at the heart of every session, and Vivien strives to tailor each session to the goals of her clients and their families. She has a special interest in integrating the arts into her practice using theatre, play, and drama. Vivien frequently runs theatrical workshops targeting the development of pragmatic language skills.
With a belief in lifelong and self-empowered learning, Vivien looks forward to welcoming your family into Speechcare and supporting the communication and development of your child.
