About Tara
Tara (they/them) is an Accredited Social Worker who brings a unique and authentic perspective to their practice as a queer, non-binary, Autistic ADHD’er.
Tara has experience supporting young people and adults who live with neurodevelopmental differences from a strengths-based perspective and trauma-informed approach. They have experience working in NGO settings, private practice and NDIS therapeutic support. Their values are self-determination, inclusions, acceptance, authenticity and kindness – and these show up in the way that they practice.
Tara can support you on your mental health journey, to build interoceptive awareness skills, to learn emotional regulation techniques and to hold space for the tougher moments. They can support you to navigate complex healthcare and welfare systems such as Centrelink and NDIS.
Tara works from a neurodivergent-affirming strengths-based, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, harm reduction, feminist and systems framework. They are trained in providing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focussed Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
