Haley Weatherill

Haley Weatherill is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist, who completed her Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honors Class I) at the University of Queensland.

Haley has worked across both the public and private sectors in Australia and the United Kingdom in community, education and hospital settings. She spent 7 years of her speech pathology career working for the National Health Service (NHS) in London supporting children and young people with disabilities in education and community settings. During her time working in the UK, Haley also participated in a variety of charity projects in Europe including providing training and outreach support to remote communities in Romania.

Haley is highly motivated and experienced in supporting children with autism and other developmental and neurological disorders or disabilities. Haley is passionate about supporting children and their families to reach their highest potential to be able to communicate whether this be through using spoken language, supportive technology or alternative means (e.g., Key Word Signing, picture communication or high-tech speech generating devices).

Haley is trained and experienced in the use of a range of approaches and interventions including early communication approaches (e.g., Intensive Interaction, Hanen – It Takes Two To Talk), autism specific (e.g., Attention Autism, Social Stories, Social Thinking, SCERTS) and Alternative/Augmentative Communication – AAC (e.g., Picture Exchange Communication System – PECS, Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display – PODD, Key Word Signing).

Haley has gained a wealth of experience in providing family-centred care to children of all ages with a range of speech, language and communication needs and disabilities. Haley believes the best outcomes are achieved through working on collaborative goals that target her client’s daily routines and meaningful environments. The needs, wants and aspirations of her clients and their families are always at the forefront.
