Lauren Harris graduated with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology from the University of Queensland in 2006. Since then, she has worked in a variety of settings including rural community outreach in Central Queensland, in state and private schools, private practice and as an AusAid volunteer at special school in Fiji.

Lauren is dedicated to helping people improve their quality of life through evidence-based speech, language and literacy interventions. She pursued further study in a Masters of Applied Linguistics (TESOL) in 2018 and has also taught English as a Second Language classed with adults from a wide variety of backgrounds.

She is particularly interested in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse clients, bilingualism, and the impact of cultural practices on communication. She has been learning French and Japanese since high school and still has ambitions to be more fluent.

Lauren has experience in working with students with language and literacy disorders, and advocates for neurodiverse students in order to support them to achieve their academic potential. She has been using synthetic phonics instruction since her career began in 2007, and continues to be very interested in the Australian academic landscape.

Lauren has pursued further training in moderate and severe speech sounds disorders with Caroline Bowen.

Lauren is a mother of two and understands the impact of developmental and behavioural difficulties on family life. Her practice is family-centered, with the emotional well being of her clients at the core of her practice.
