Laura graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours).

Laura is particularly interested in the areas of neurodiversity, Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), literacy, and language. She has a proven ability working with a range of clients in neurodiversity-affirming groups, as well as in providing 1:1 intervention to support speech production, language, literacy, social communication, and self-advocacy.

Laura values individualised, client-centred, and strengths-based supports. She believes that building strong relationships with clients and their families is the key to achieving their goals. Laura approaches her therapy using safe, affirming and non-judgemental care, and works to empower and educate her clients, their families and educators.

Laura values lifelong learning, and has completed further training in the below:
• Sounds-Write – a structured synthetic phonics program based on the science of reading.
• Read3 – an evidence-based program which integrates phonological awareness, systematic synthetic phonics and fluency strategies for children with literacy difficulties
• The Lidcombe Program – a program for young children who are stuttering which encourages fluency through parent or caregiver coaching and capacity-building.
Laura works with school-based and clinic-based clients of all ages.

Laura is a member of Speech Pathology Australia and a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP).
