THE CONNECTED CHILD PILOT PROGRAM:

Speechcare is proud to be rolling out a pilot of The Connected Child Project across Sesame Lane Kindy & Daycare, Brisbane Adventist College and Shailer Road Community Kindergarten.

Is Your Local Daycare Next?

The pilot will bring Speechcare Speech Pathologists, teachers, AHAs and educators together to embed practical communication, regulation and inclusion strategies into everyday classroom and early learning routines, creating more connected and supportive environments for children, families and staff.

As part of this national rollout, Speechcare is also looking for 20 NEW Speech Pathologists across Australia to join The Connected Child Project and help pilot the program within early learning centres and schools in their local communities.

CORE PRINCIPALS:

Whole-Class First

Supports are embedded for everyone, not only children with identified needs.

Affirming & Strengths Based

Children are supported as capable communicators.

Access Before Expectation

We increase communication access before asking children to “perform”.

Model, Don’t Test

Educators model language, AAC, signs and visuals naturally.

Repeatable Across Routines

The same supports are used consistently throughout the day.

Educator Friendly

Strategies are practical, visible and easy to embed.

Responsive & Reflective

The environment is reviewed, refined and adapted over time.

Repeatable Cycle

Observe → Enrich → Model → Embed → Reflect → Refine
