MAKE A BOOKING

1. Fill out the form (Part A) below to make a booking. Give as much information as possible so that we can find the right therapist for you and your family!

2. One of our friendly team will get in touch with you by phone to book your appointment and to clarify details before your first session.

3. You’re in good hands! From the moment you walk through our doors, we’ll make sure you feel supported, comfortable, and confident about your therapy journey.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR FIRST VISIT

In most instances, children and parents/caregivers attend together. Your child is provided with interesting toys and activities while the Speech Pathologist speaks with you about your concerns for your child and goes through the questionnaire you have completed about your child’s history (developmental, medical, educational, social and family).

Depending on your child’s age and stage of language development, the Speech Pathologist then assesses your child using a variety of standardized and naturalistic assessments tools. At all times they are made to feel comfortable and at ease. Assessment tasks are done in a fun way, with plenty of positive reinforcement.

Following assessment, a report is prepared (if required) which includes recommendations. If therapy is recommended, session times are organized and you and your child return for the follow-up appointments.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT NEXT SESSIONS

Therapy sessions are fun and the emphasis is on achieving therapy goals using games and play-based techniques as much as possible.

Home practice is strongly recommended and these activities will be explained thoroughly during the session.

We encourage you to ask questions if at any stage you are unclear about any aspect of the assessment or therapy program.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

HICAPS

All of our Speech Pathologists are registered with Speech Pathology Australia and have Medicare provider numbers. This means for eligible services, you may be able to claim using your private health fund. Please check your private health cover.

You can contact us directly to find out the billing code for your appointment so you can determine your rebate prior to attending your appointment.

Medicare EPC/CDM

Speechcare accepts Chronic Disease Management Plans (CDM referrals) wherein up to 5 allied health consultations per calendar year are eligible for Medicare rebate.

You will need to speak with your GP to determine if you are eligible for a CDM referral.

We do not bulk bill, there will be an out-of-pocket expense for any consultations provided under a CDM referral.

NDIS | National Disability Insurance Scheme

At Speechcare, we don’t believe in charging higher fees for NDIS participants. Our Fee Schedule remains the same for ALL clients.

Speechcare therapists assess and treat NDIS participants. We offer NDIS funded services under the Early Childhood Supports and Therapeutic Supports (ECEI) program.

We accept NDIS participants who are both self-managed and plan-managed, however, under our terms & conditions, we require payment at the consultation. We do not invoice to a third part (Plan Manager).

Please contact us to find out more information.

Fees & Services Guide:

SpeechCare supports clinicians to work with autonomy and flexibility.

Clinicians who work for themselves set their own fees and manage their own billing arrangements. To support transparency and consistency for families, we provide a SpeechCare Fee Guide. This guide outlines market-aligned rates that reflect the value of high-quality, affirming therapy and assessment services within our community.

Our fee guide is designed to:

  • Provide a reference point for clinicians when setting their own fees
  • Help families understand what to expect when budgeting for services
  • Maintain alignment with ethical and sustainable standards
