Our Prep Readiness Program is designed to support children as they prepare for their first year of formal schooling, helping to build confidence and create a smooth transition into Prep.

Sessions are run by a neuro-affirming speech pathologist and focus on supporting each child’s individual strengths while building the communication and interaction skills needed for the classroom environment.

Through play-based and engaging activities, we target key areas including:

  • Pre-literacy and early reading skills (e.g. sound awareness and listening skills)
  • Social communication and peer interaction
  • Oral language skills (e.g. storytelling, vocabulary, and expressing ideas)
  • Play skills and cooperative play with others

Our neuro-affirming approach recognises and respects different ways of communicating and learning. The program aims to create a supportive environment where children can develop skills, build friendships, and feel confident as they begin their school journey.
