About Ava
Ava is a Senior Speech Pathologist with over 12 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and their families across Australia and the United Kingdom. She completed her Bachelor of Speech Pathology at The University of Queensland and has worked across a diverse range of settings, including private practice, specialist and mainstream schools, and community-based services.
Ava began her career in Mount Isa, later worked in Cairns, and spent six years living and working in London—experiences that have shaped her broad clinical skillset and deep appreciation for diverse communities.
Ava has a special interest in supporting young people to develop language, literacy, social communication, fluency, and speech (articulation) skills. She is passionate about creating safe, affirming spaces where children feel understood, respected, and confident in their communication. Her approach is collaborative and strengths-based, drawing on dynamic assessment, evidence-informed practice, and the lived experiences of clients and families.
Ava believes meaningful progress occurs when strong therapeutic relationships are established, and she is committed to helping children build on their strengths, find their voice, and experience success in everyday life. Ava enjoys working both face-to-face and online, and takes care to tailor sessions to individual needs. She is warm, approachable, and reliable, and strives to ensure every client feels heard and supported.
Outside of Speechcare, Ava enjoys bushwalking, ocean swimming, stand-up paddle boarding, live music, watching movies and reading.
