About Dr Nicole
Dr Nicole Watts Pappas brings over 24 years of experience to her role at Speechcare, along with a deep passion for empowering children and their families. Nicole has worked across educational, hospital, community health, and private practice settings, and is known for her supportive, evidence-based approach.
Nicole holds a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (University of Queensland), a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology (University of Sydney), and a PhD from Charles Sturt University. Her doctoral research focused on how speech pathologists can best support families of children with speech sound difficulties—an area that continues to inspire her practice today.
Nicole has lectured at Griffith University and Charles Sturt University, served as editor of The Journal of Clinical Practice in Speech Language Pathology, and authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and the book Working with Families in Speech Language Pathology.
Nicole’s sessions are grounded in research but filled with creativity and connection. She’s particularly passionate about helping children improve their speech clarity and fluency, and enjoys working closely with parents to build their skills and confidence.

Nicole’s favourite part of her work is seeing a child’s world open up through communication—and empowering parents to be a confident part of that journey. She also admits to loving any chance to play with the toys during sessions!
