About Emma

Emma is a passionate and experienced Speech Pathologist who joined the Speechcare team in 2011. She holds a Master of Speech Pathology Studies from the University of Queensland, as well as degrees in Behavioural Science and Criminology and Criminal Justice from Griffith University—giving her a unique and holistic perspective on communication, behaviour, and support.

Emma is deeply committed to providing affirming, inclusive therapy that values the lived experiences of her clients and their families. She has worked in both private practice and university settings, earning a reputation for her reflective, evidence-based care and her strong advocacy for people with communication differences—especially those who stutter.

Emma’s work is grounded in empathy and empowerment. As a mother of two, she brings understanding and sensitivity to every session, working closely with families to create realistic, meaningful therapy plans that fit their lives.

Emma is also passionate about education and mentoring. She regularly supports student learning at the University of Queensland and provides clinical supervision at Speechcare’s Carina clinic. She enjoys delivering community workshops to local kindergartens, helping families understand and support their children’s language and literacy development.

Emma believes that connection is the foundation of successful therapy—and she works tirelessly to build strong, respectful relationships with every client and family she supports.
